Just fill the ballast hopper tool and slowly slide the spreader back and forth along the track depending on how much ballast you desire, effortlessly ballasting both sides of the rail and down the center of the track at one time. We’ve designed the spreader with a sloped hopper and slots proportional to the amount of ballast needed for the entire track at one time without making a mess.
